Does anyone know the actual lengths of the various gas tubes in inches.... Carbine, Mid, Intermediate, & Rifle? Hard lesson learned......... I just built a mid length where I bought a mid-length gas tube, and the gas tube is protruding so far into the upper that the BCG won't fit properly into the upper. I'm assuming my gas tube is about 1/2 inch to 1 inch longer than it should be (maybe I got an intermediate by accident)? But I don't have any spare mid length gas tubes laying around to compare it against, and I really don't feel like removing any of my hand guards as an experiment. Any help would be much appreciated.

Car is 9.75"
Mid is 11.75"
Rifle is 15.125"
I have no idea what the intermediate is.

Simple things first.
Have you checked the alignment of the gas tube to make sure the carrier key is able to slide over the gas tube?
If so you should be able to tweak the gas tube along the barrel to move the end inside the receiver into alignment.

If you have a non free floated hand-guard, removal should be 15 seconds.

...and if not a new gas tube is not expensive.
