 Some stock/buffer help

I am in need of some schooling :-)
First off I have put about 200 rounds through my rifle with no problems.
I put together a rifle a few months ago. Last week I read an article that was saying that you have to be careful for what springs, buffers, and tube
you use on carbines and rifles. I am not sure if the only concern is with the buffer length, spring and tube or if there is more to it.
I am not 100% sure if I bought the right stock kit.
I have a Rock River 20" upper. The gas tube is approx 13" long
and then I bought this build kit.

Is this an ok set up?

Also a friend of mine has a AR-15 with a A2 stock, we are thinking about switching stocks between our rifles. If we do that would it be ok as long as I switch tubes, springs, and buffers?

I just dont want to ruin anything

Here is a pic of my setup

1. you won't ruin anything.
2. the lower kit you link to will work with rifle length gas systems
3. you can swap the adjustable stock assembly for the fixed stock assembly as long as ALL stock kit parts are swapped between guns.
4. since you have already put 200rds through it, if it functions fine, why mess with something that isn't broken?????

Diemaco / Colt Canada uses 20" barreled guns with adjustable stocks. You should have no problem.

*** depending on the gasport diameter, you may have to use a H buffer or heavier to get reliable cycling, but this is only something you should do if you run into reliability issues.

The problems come about if you mix up internal parts designed for one type of buffer tube into the other type.

Awesome, Thanks for the replies.
The reason why I want to change stocks is that after getting the 6 position and then shooting my buddies gun I would rather have the fixed stock.
It seems like it would distribute the weight a little better on my rifle as the barrel is so darn heavy.

Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it

Just make sure you use a rifle spring and buffer with the longer buffer tube and you'll be fine.
