I was wondering about everyones opinions on an upcoming build (M4 type) and which lower to use, Aero Precision or Surplus Ammo and Arms, any info would be greatly appreciated.

You may find they are one in the same.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I think Aero actually manufactures lowers for different companies. SAA is just one of those companies.
I'm digging my Aero upper and lower receivers.
Aero makes the lowers for SAA, among others. I have an Aero lower myself. I chose it over the SAA due to it having a rollmark that doesn't bug me.

This ^^^
Same parts....just different roll marks.
Lower Receiver: Aero Precision
Upper Receiver: CMT (Continental Machine Tool)
Bolt Carrier Group: SAA
Charging Handle: LMT
Lower Parts Kit: Daniel Defense
Trigger Guard: Magpul Aluminum
Receiver End Plate: Noveske QD
Barrel: Wilson Arms 16" 1/8 SS Wylde chamber HBAR contour
Flash Hider: A2
Gas System: Mid
Handguard: Magpul MOE
Rear Sight: Troy
Buttstock Assy: MagPul CTR
Buffer: H2
Sling: BFG Victory
This is an Aero Precision lower. ;)
You won't be disappointed either way you go. It's all about the roll marks.
My SA&A lower and AP upper fit together perfectly both in tightness and in the casting lines lining up.

Thanks for the info guys.
MeatBag,
I agree about the rollmark looking better on the Aero P.
I just ordered the Aero Precision upper and lower.
Steve E........
The Aero has the American Flag lasered on the top. Need I say more?

Recently picked up an AP upper because of the flag. Sweet.
double
What's that hole on the left side of the trigger guard ?
My Aero lower doesn't drop GI mags free.

I would send it back.
Mine drops USGI mags and Pmags like a box of rocks.

I assume you are talking about my roll pin job at the front end of the trigger guard? Well there's a long story to that lol. That's what happens when you put the GI trigger guard in backwards and punch a roll pin into a blind hole. Took it to the drill press and made a properly located hole to send the roll pin all the way through. Bought the Magpul and drilled the threads out of the threaded end. It is now roll pinned at both ends. What sent me into panic ended up being a very solid installation. :D

Is your mag release tightened too much?
I have had zero problems dropping mags out empty or with ammo left in them.
I would definitely send it back if it is not functioning right.

I figured there was a story there.
Good thing you didn't have to use The Grip of Shame....if you know what I mean.

I'm affraid I'd have to just buy a new receiver before I used the grip of shame. ;) They're cheap.

That is one cool (do they say cool anymore?) setup you have there.

Hey thanks.
I wanted to keep it simple, good parts and inexpensive.
I think I'm around $700.
Eventually I'd like to put a 1-4x on it like a Vortex PST with some good QR mounts.....like Larue
I'll go back and post the specs.....

I wouldn't doubt it, the Aero upper I got are very tight. Some charging handles I had wouldn't fit.
And the pins for my PRI vice block wouldn't go through.
