I have a bushmaster manufactured post ban with a 20" barrel. I have had for 9 years and a few thousand rounds of various ammo without a hiccup. I put a new brass catcher on and I was sighting in my scope. I went through 40 rounds or so and click. Manually charged, bang click. Trying to keep this short I read through this site and you guys are awesome with your trouble shooting guides. One thing that was not made clear to me is that the gas key is supposed to be COMPLETELY clear. I thought it had an orafice in it (I am a heating and cooling mechanic by trade). I had cleaned my upper and lower and lubed the crap out of everything. I sprayed cleaner through all ports. I was nervous about permanent mods but when I shined a flash light down the key I saw a brass peice, I figured what the hell. 4 hours into troubleshooting this weapon and it came down to 2 minutes with a drill to removed a stuck primer. Is that like a hole in one? I am in awe that this happened. Either way it was fixed thanks to all of you guys and I wanted to pass along my gratitude.
I have gotten a loose primer in my gas key and behind the tail of my trigger. Both happened the same day, and both were EXTREMELY frustrating.
I will also never, ever use Federal brass again.

I have had a similar experience with Federal.
Kind of scarey!
