What Size Dewey Rod?

I have a new Colt LE6920 and have been trying to figure out what size Dewey Rod I should get to clean it. I've seen short ones advertised for ARs and read posts saying 30", 36", and even 44" ones can be used. I don't want overkill here, just one that will clean the rifle without sticking feet beyond the barrel. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

Get one a few inches longer than your barrel.

I forget the length of mine, but just get a tape measure and measure from the flash hider to the end of the receiver, then get a rod thats a 2-4 inches more than that.

Go with the 30" rod. That will still allow you some room for a bore guide as well.

I own a 36 inch rod and it is very cumbersome in my 16" carbine. I would happily lose 6 inches and then some. Go 30".
I do not see how additional length will give you any added benefit in cleaning. The important thing is to use a good quality rod, good quality brass jags, and good quality patches, with good quality solvents.
Length doesn't matter, it is the fit that counts.

measure from the rear of the upper reciver to the end of the muzzel device and go with the one that is closest to the measurement. Or add 4" to that number so you have one rod for when you get a 20" ar.
