OK, this is what I have going on:
The place that I usually work on/clean my guns in my house is now being converted by me into a nursery. Me and my wife are having our first kid and it has turned my whole world upside down and taken me out of my comfort zone. I can no longer clean and work on my guns in the house because my wife says that I get oil and solvent everywhere and my old office/room is out of the equation. So, this is what I have going on now.
I have built a work station in my garage and I am taking suggestions on what I need to complete it. This is what I have done:
I have taken an old cabinet that I have in the garage and tiled it and put undermount lights under the cabinet. I have put a 3.5 inch vice on the bench and put all of my cleaning supplies and spare parts under the work bench. I plan on getting some sort of rubber pad for the tiled top so I don't bang my guns directly on the tile(suggestions???) and I am going to order a mag well block for the vice(any particular one that anyone cares to suggest???) What else would you guys do to improve the space.
Thanks in advance,
Not to shabby brother. It's a great start that's for sure.
Looks nice, I throw a gun mat on my miller arcstation... Works well and I have a vise rite on it...
Yea looks good man....I would definitely get a rifle cleaning mat so you dont scratch your guns on the tiles.....or scratch the tiles from the rifle lol. Just fold it up when not in use so your not hiding your tilework though
Then possibly a small flat panel out there?

peg board for your most used tools and cleaning rods...
I ordered the Hoppe's Cleaning mat and magwell vice block today. I already have the flat panel and the kegeraitor isn't too far away. I have a stool, but I don't know if I will be able to use it because there is a lip about 2 feet behind where the bench is so I don't think that I will be able to sit there. I will look into a pegboard to hang the tools. What else do I need? Here is what it looks like from farther away.
