First let me say this was , er , is much more satisfying than waiting on a ups truck to bring parts that pop , pin together without much to do other than do it like the last time.
Making , fitting refinishing wood , rivets , it is building. So here are some pictures.
Mostly fit up and head spaced

Bead blasted

and the AK

You should be proud of yourself.

How do you have all the tools, like the blasting cabinet and such?

What kinda of finish did you go with on the metal? Looks like blued?

What media (type/grit) did you use to blast it with beforehand?

Turned out great, nice work.

Wood work was striped and stained with walnut stain then 3 coats of tru oil. Wanted old looking but with a dose of American thrown in.
Metal was blasted with aluminium oxide 70 grit then parkerized before painting with flat black baked on engine enamel.
Seems to be very durable.
Next one will be parkerized and oiled I think as it also is black.
Thanks Jeff

Black park? You mean the manganese park rather than the zinc parkerizing solution. I like the Palmetto brand. Google "Blindhog 1911" and he shows pics of it right on his gunsmithing website.

Nice work BTW!!
