Are the rivets for a Romanian trunnion a different size than others? I have a Romanian trunnion, and purchased Bulgarion rivets from K-Var. The rivets for the holes near the mag catch seem too big. Will there be a problem? Can it be forced in? Any suggestions?

Diameter of the rivets seems pretty standard. Where they differ is in length and whether they are countersunk or not.

You have the wrong rivet set, you need an AKM set that you can purchase from AK Builder. AK 74 rivets have a total of 4 fat boy swell neck rivets on the front trunnion, I believe they are 4.5mm(11/64) in size and 2 regular non swell neck, 4mm(5/32) in size. That's different than a Romanian front trunnion which uses all 4mm rivets, 4 regular heads on the top holes of the trunnion and 2 swell neck on the bottom holes by the mag well. Also the rear trunnions are different as well, the 74 uses 1 long rivet and 2 swell neck short rivets to hold it in place while the Romanian uses 2 long rivets to hold it in place. Do not try to force the rivet in, it won't work, take the time to get the right rivet set.
