Just curious if anyone has ordered from/used Georgia Arms ammo specifically the 7.62x39?

I've shot many thousands of rounds of their stuff over the years (good stuff IMO), but not that particular load.

I do use their 7.62x39mm Ballistic Tip load in my hunting rifles in that caliber, and like it very much.

Have not used that caliber. 5.56, .45 and 9mm is Geter.

Thanks for the replies, hows that price sound for 300 rounds? Have not researched AK ammo prices much is brass cased ammo more expensive than steel? Any benefits to either one? Looking for something for both recreational use and storage.

Is it new or reloads? I may be wrong but I think I remember that a lot of their stuff is reloads.

I have used some of their .30 cal carbine before and never had a problem.

Can't answer questions about prices or 7.62X39

I had a problem with their 45 ACP getting pushed back in the case with several different guns. I shipped them back what I hadn't shot, and they replaced it almost 2 rounds to one.

I believe in this situation, from your photo and what I've personally seen from Georgia Arms recently in 7.62x39, it's surplus Yugoslavian-made M67 ammo. Check the headstamp for the year of production and Yugo Factory that loaded the ammo.

If it is indeed Yugo ammo, it's corrosive-primed. Just make sure you clean the whole gas-system, along with the bore and bolt-face with something water-based and you will be fine. Yugo M67 7.62x39 is some of the best shooting ammo ever made in that caliber. Very, very good stuff! Good luck

No, and at $ .30/round I won't be.

This looks lioke the same stuff they where selling at a gunshow. It is repacked Yugo surplus and it is corrosive.

GA also sells remanufactured (reloaded) ammunition and newly manufactured ammunition using never-fired Starline brass.

I have always had a good experience with their products and they are a professional and ATF licensed manufactuer not some just some dude with a reloading press in his basement. However, I wish they would provide more labling regarding their repackaged surplus.

Someone could send them an email asking for them to clarify that it is corrosive surplus ammo. When I found an error on their site in the description on one of their loads I sent them an email and they thanked me and updated their page.

They are good people over at GA Arms. I'll continue to buy their stuff (.357 and .38 mostly)

I just bought 3 ammo cans of this stuff yesterday, Saturday the 12th, at the Dallas Market Hall gun show. Price out the door at $85 per ammo can (includes tax and no S&H).
The guys selling it tell me it's not reloads but re-packaged ammo never fired.

It's headstamped IK 86 or NNY 1987. From that it tells me it's Surplus Yugo M67 and yes the primer is a golden colored berdan primer sealed with red paint/lacquer so it's corrosive.

Considering the value of the ammo can it comes out at ~ 26.5 cents/round. I thought it was a good deal and that's why I bought 3 ammo cans of it.

At the end of the Market Hall gun show, I bought his last 3 ammo cans of this ammo at a discount. Considering the $5 ammo can into the equation, I got it out the door for only 25 cents/round.

I've used some of their ammo with no problems but their prices have gotten to high for me.

If its Yugo the stuff has rep of being not the most accurate, its corrosive, and the brass is not reloadable so its not worth bothering to pick up for scrpw value. You can buy it online for $.19 a round from J&G. You can buy new steel case Tula for $3.79 a box from Cabelas now, so $.19 a round, so I probably wouldn't consider buying Yugo now unless it was ~$.15 or less out the door.

Quoted for the truth. No use buying corrosive yugo and paying $50 a thousand more for it than new production non-corrosive or even cased yugo. Plus if you buy the yugo cased you just might get a cool wooden green storage container.
