Golden Tiger
Just got into a case of it and have had 7 Fail to Fire
Anyone else?
I had a few cases from 2008 that had about 1 out of 100 that would FTF. (bad primers I guess).
a few hundred rounds yesterday no failures in my hungarian. a full case awhile back in my romanian no failures
Went through almost 1000 rounds without an issue so far.
I picked up a case about a month ago and also having same issue ,half way througha case with over 20 FTF , never had a problem before.
going to start looking for other ammo cant trust it with this many FTF.

Assuming that the firing pin and channel aren't dirty and that the firing pin isn't damaged, contact the importer about the defective ammunition.
Provide the lot number. People have gotten replacement ammunition in the past.
I've had a few, but then again I had a few with all ak ammo I had.
Never had a problem.

Strange...never had a issue with it. Gun isn't really dirty is it?
I've fired a few hundred rounds from a case I bought back in '08. No issues yet.
Arsenal rifle -clean and properly operating.
Primers are cleanly striked.
Must have been faulty primers, oh well.
picked up some tula 7.62 x 39 at local gun shop, [just to be sure it wasnt the rifle] fired 300 rnd with out a hicup, switched back to the golden tiger
and started to have FTF's must be a bad case. Its too bad I really liked golden tiger.

+1 aswell it is a little hotter than average

yep its definitely a little hotter
and i sent ~300 rds of GT downrange last week, 0 FTF's
Very likely the best 7.62x39mm ammo I've ever tried, and I've been "trying" lots of the stuff since the late 1980's.
I've fired over 3,000 rounds of Golden Tiger with no malfunctions whatsoever. As posted earlier, it does seem to be "hotter" than average.
Were you bump-firing when you encountered the dud rounds OP? I have run nothing but Golden Tiger through my WASR-10, and had great results with the exception of my most recent trip to the range with it. I tried bump firing one magazine, and had 3 or 4 FTF's in that one mag. The primers were clearly struck with clean and deep indents. I have no idea why bump firing would cause primer failures, but those rounds were the only FTF's I've had. Seems odd that out of 270 or so rounds that I've fired, I'd get perfect results for the first 240, and multiple FTF's out the last 30....
These FTFs happend slowfire
Lot#E-22-08
I too really like GT but with my recent FTFs, I do not trust GT.
If it works for you continue buying it.
I will not be buying anymore GT.
The positive side to this story is there will be more GT for you guys.
I have never had a problem with GT. I have used it in an arsenal, WASR, Yugo SKS, and a Yugo underfolder and B1. Great stuff IMO.
It's always worked fine for me... I have 2k stashed away that I hope is ok, I need to check my lot numbers.
Just bought another 1K from Wideners.

I've never tried GT although I'm sitting on 2k that I bought about 4 years ago. Hope it lives up to it's reputation.

Where are you finding it for less total price?

With the forty dollars in shipping UPS charges to get it here to me it's pretty close. And I don't have to have it sent to my FFL dealer since I'm 19. I think I'll buy my rifle ammunition where a 19 year old's hard won money is appreciated......

Even though I'm a rifle marksmanship instructor and CMP certified.

For me - The Armory.

I wanted some of that Prvi round-nose that Wideners had in 20rd boxes. Saw that they had Golden Tiger for $204/k so I went ahead and bought that, too, to basically make the shipping free for the 3 boxes of Prvi. I know, I know
The very day after that order arrives I see the AIM sweet deal on the Yugo crate for $179.00. And right next to it is GT for $179.00!!
So I bought one of each.
+3200 rounds in one week.

or
I don't know.

Yeah that's the only gripe I have against AIM. Now that I'm (bascically) 23 I order whatever I want from them. Their rep, aside from a slightly odd policy, and quality of guns has been higher than other vendors often with lower prices too.
it's always amazing to me the differences in shipping charges between the various vendors,I recently bought 5K .223 and 5K 762x39 and had to get it from two different venders to get the best price w/ shipping even though the actual "price" was the same at both. Getting it all together at either one would have been way more ($45-$70).
Aim always is the most expensive shipping to me, I don't even try there anymore.
Pointman we need someplace out of state, but not far away to keep the shipping down. Too bad there isn't some great supplier in OK, LA, or NM.
Both Widners and AIM were same price shipping 1000 rds Golden Tiger.
Just ordered another 1K from AIM. Was going to spread it around and get it from Wideners since their shipping to me is a little cheaper and they had it for $175 but they only had 32 boxes in stock.
I guess this stuff is dissappearing again. Better buy up. AIM's email yesterday had "last chance" on it refering to the Golden Tiger. Just checked their inventory and they are down to just over 23 (1K) cases.
Both have been out for awhile now. Hopefully they or someone else will start carrying Golden Tiger regularly.

Thanks Emptymag, always nice to have more choices!
Well, I broke into a stash of Golden Tiger I got back in ~2007ish for $150 per K.
Was not very pleased with the dud primer I experienced. Other than that it's nice stuff. Hopefully this isn't a very common occurrence in this lot. I guess I'll shoot all this up instead of the Wolf I was planning to blast.
This will be my first post in AK47.net. I recently picked up a case of Golden Tiger after lots of positive posts on the ammo and places to get it in another forum. I have not seen a single negative post on GT ammo till I read this thread. I’m only 100 rounds into the case, and it seems like similar accuracy to Wolf, but I wonder what people do with the duds if and when you do get them? I’ve never experienced an FTF with centerfire. Rimfire, yes, but not centerfire.
The only misfires I've had was with a few reloads with hard primers. After waiting awhile, I've opened the breech, took them out, stuck them back in and fired.

+1. I only use Golden Tiger, because it generally seems better made, it's hotter, and cleaner than Wolf. Never had even a single FTF or other problem with Golden Tiger.
Sounds like you just got a rare bad batch, OP.
