Could it be?? Cheap gunshow ammo??

I went to the local "big" gun show yesterday. I haven't been in years, having resigned myself to the fact that there are rarely any decent deals to be found at such shows.

But I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was there a plentiful supply of ammo...but it was relatively cheap too!

Sample prices I saw:

Golden Tiger 7.62x39 - 500 rounds for $99, 1,000 rounds for $199.
Prvi M855 (SS109) - 1,000 rounds for $299
Surplus Russian 5.45 - 1080 round tins for $135

Before yesterday, I don't think I've EVER seen gun show ammo that could compete with online prices. I'm guessing that what I saw yesterday was a blessed combination of the recession and the ammo "shortage" being over. Whatever it is, it's comforting to know that I can now actually pick up my ammo locally without overpaying for it. It'll be interesting to see how long this lasts.
