So I'm in a gun store today and in the corner I see a couple of spam-cans of 5.45 ammo in the corner... 1080 rounds for $140. I inquire about them at the front desk and the guy tells me they're non-corrosive because 'he has a reputation to maintain.' That I can understand but 1080 rounds non-corrosive for $140 seems suspect to me. Below are a couple of pics I took of the spam-cans in the store...
So what say the forum? Are these cans non-corrosive?
Yes, corrosive...see your other thread.
They do sell Wolf ammo in spam cans that is non corrosive....but as a rule of thumb...all Combloc surplus ammo is corrosive..or should be treated as such...
Unfortunately Mr. Mozart your dealer is either stupid or a prevaricator. Neither condition should inspire confidence. Some commercial FMJ, N/C Romanian 7.62x39mm & 5.45mm was available in 700 & 800 rd. spam cans respectively. Dried up a couple years ago though if memory serves. As previous poster notes, there is canned commercial N/C Wolf available but the packaging brings a premium to the pricing.
