Fiocchi Ammo
Hello to all,
Jusr bought some ammo made by Fiocchi thinking it was made in Italy and it is considered non-corrosive but I just found out it's labeled "made in Hungry" which shocked the hell out of me! I wanted to make sure Fiocchi is non-corrosive....right????

Fiocchi should be fine, I would expect only surplus to be corrosive.

WTEX,
Thanks for the reply. Basically I knew it but needed reinforcement in my thinking. I tried to buy more but at the outraegous price of $17.99/20 rounds I passed up on the deal. Good think I got some at the range. Thanks again

they are def non corrosive and boxer primered so you can reload away, well a lot easier then berdan primers that is
Thanks for the replies guys-gals!!! I went back to buy maybe 6 boxes and tunrs out the sale is off during the New Years and so the price went back to it's usual $18 and change per box. For that price I'd rather head to Bass Pro and get Remington ammo.

not sure about reloading, the Fiocchi I bought cases of in the mid-late 90's was thin as shit. You couldn't resize 10 pieces of brass without tearing one of them.

RyJones,
I'm not into reloading but I heard it's not too hard to manage. All I want is to shoot non-steel and non-corrosive ammo t th range otherwise they make or have a fit with the magnet.
Thanks or your reply though.

You could keep your eyes open on the EE and GB for that older wolf in the half yellow half black box. It's supposed to be steel free projectiles. I've seen it before selling for close to normal steel case ammo prices. That would be more affordable than buying modern brass case N/C anyway. Also watch for much less common South African surplus. Anyway, I have seen Fiocci ammo from USA, Italy and Hungary. I guess they make it all over the place.
ILAK,
At my range they say as long as the bullet isn't steel they'll alow it to be shot but on other ocassions I've witnessed they harrase other shooters about it and confiscate the ammo when it's know to be steel cased and not the bullet. For myself I just don't want the pain of a range officer lurking over my shoulder just because I'm shoting my AK nd the ammo going through it. I get enough bull at work and when I head to the range I want to decompress and enjoy myself. Allot of California shooting ranges are erroding away because of bad politics and money so th ranges know they can get away with it.
Overall it's just good advise to get American made ammo and avoid the hassel of the range police and at the same time I have piece of mind knowing it's non-corrosive.

"Confiscate" the ammo? Not allow it to be shot, or even taken onto the range maybe. But the range has NO right to confiscate ammo. That would be stealing.

Rob,
I have heard they have done it to others and return the ammo before one leaves the range. I was lucky the last time they allowed me to put t in my truck so I can't use it on their range. You say they can't so it??? They can and have been doing it without any hassles from the police since they visit there almost daily.

Impala sorry to hear about all your hassels just to go shooting. NV is a gun friendly state if you want a change.

WTEX,
Thank you for the invite. Beliieve it or not some people I know are actually moving to NV in order to escape California's odd and sometimes stupid issues. Most of them are retired and live in Vegas area in semi retirment homes. Anyway for now here I am to stay. If you head the the Cal-Guns website you'll find others haveing the same issues from other ranges as well. Our problem is stupid shooters doing wild thing with there rifles and starting forest fires. California is in a bad way due to the State budget so who know what can happen. More dirt to come. Thanks again.
