Trying to Find LOWEST QD Mount possible for an Aimpoint Micro.
Thanks!
The ARMS 31 is pretty low.

I've read that it's low enough to co-witness on an Ultimak.
If you have an optics side rail on your receiver and want to use it, this mount is very low:
AKML

The LaRue QD is really low. I have nothing to compare it to but it is very low.
get an aimpoint fixed base model. there is a QD throw lever kit available Brownells and Primary arms sells it.

I saw that and began to wonder if any have tried to fit that throw lever to the PA Micro.

I use the QD lever on my TRS-25.

Per Marshall @ PA, the QD throw lever kit and PA Micro are not compatible.
I wish it were, as I could sell my Larue LT-661 and use the funds for something else.
Arms-31 /T-1 / Ultimak will barely co-witness.
The American Defence Micro mount (LOW) is a better mount but does not co-witness.
If you need the Irons just pop it off................
Adjustable to any rail (out of spec rails)
Lever has a lock so it will not open.
The mount comes with 4 screws and red lock tite.
Just a better mount IMHO, I have both.......
American Defence if you are reading this......... Make your mount a tad LOWER!
I'm also searching for the lowest mount for my '74. It seems the consensus to be
a) the regular T1 mount with an added lever
b)the American Defense QD
http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=27291/Product/AD-T1-L-AIMPOINT-MICRO-MOUNT
I do not consider ARMS to be a quality product
I'm mounting mine on a TWS rail system, and co-witness is not as much a factor to me as is cheek weld. I have a SOCOM riser ADM mount from my AR-15 and it is not very fun shooting on an AK.
I'll probably buy one of them and give it a whirl unless someboy stops me with some good information or personal experience!

I eneded up with a Comp C3 on a low ring. Better field of view.

I used the compm4 exclusively in the military and noticed no difference from the micros other than the m4 has crystal clear glass and the R1 that I'm using has an annoying bluish tint. You are shooting with both eyes open correct? Probably just a personal thing.
I'll update this thread as soon as I try the mounts.
I have owned the m4 and micro. If I was going with a handguard mount I would have gone micro. I'm using a twenty dog leg.
Ok, I'm claiming ignorance here. What's a twenty drop leg?

Damn autocorrect. TWS dogleg.
I just orderd an A.R.M.S #31. Midway had them on clearance earlier this week.
If you want i can get some pics up when it arrives.
Why did you say 'botach is a gamble'? Are they unreliable?
Received the arms#31 today. It does not sit low enough to co witness, at least not with a PA micro on an ultimak. I imagine an T-1 isnt much different. Not really an issue since it is "QD"
Someone mentioned they do not think the A.R.M.S mount is a quality piece. So far my only complaint is that the throw lever is a mother fucker to use when mounted, which sort of eliminates the QD aspect.
Still better than using an allen head.
Some people have said they had trouble with Botach. I wanted a mount that only they sold, couldn't contact them to verify they had it in stock though. Took a gamble & ordered it. The mount arrive a week later, no problems.

They are known for charging your credit card and not shipping for months, if at all. Then when you try to get things sorted out it becomes a manhunt for customer service help.
Just google "botach customer complaints". You'll be reading for hours.
People get lucky, but it's definitely a gamble.

The T-1 does sit a little lower.

I did a search and only pulled up A.R.M.S. mounts....
Can you give me a little more info so I can find what you are talking about?

If that picture is accurate, that's not the Aimpoint LRP kit you want. That's the older, weaker one without a positive lock.
Here's the new one. Aimpoint 12905 LRP Mount. Awesome.
