Rakurs vs PK-ASV vs 1p63 opinions wanted.

I'm looking for a good short to mid range optic for my Converted saiga 5.45x39. I have found a source for the Rakurs but have not for the PK-ASV. I am honestly just looking for opinions on both of the scopes. I like the ideal and look of the PK-ASV, but the rakurs is tritium filled and will never need a battery. The 1p63 also looks really nice but seams really bulky. I would like to stick to a traditional Russian style optic for this gun, I have searched and found many articles and post on the optics, just looking for more opinions.. I Kinda stuck on which one to get.....

Hopefully this site will help you out a bit. The PK-AS-V sits over the bore, but it's somewhat high as a result. If that bugs you, you may want to shy away from that. Though you could try to get a PK-AS-W and mount it to an AKARS or TWS dust cover/rail and that'd probably solve that problem, though it'd probably cost more than an optic alone and may not be the look you're going for. I don't have any experience with either the 1P76 Rakurs or the 1P63 Obzor so I can't really comment on those. I guess in the end it comes down to what reticle and optic stye you want.

It's a tough call for me also because each optic has features that are interesting and effective.
PK-AS was my long time favorite of all the red dots.... until Rakurs came along. After using Rakurs for a year or so I had to concede to myself that it was probably the overall simplest and easiest of all the red dot's/collimators that I've seen including my beloved PK-AS.
The only negative about the PK-AS series is that it's tough to zero due to the location of the mechanical controls, but that's by design. I respect that but what it means to me and you is that it can be a real PITA to get it dialed in and sometimes frustration can kill the desire for what is otherwise a really bad ass optic.
While Rakurs doesn't have the phenomenal field of view of PK-AS it's still really good and for me I actually ended up preferring the german post of Rakurs over the dot of PK-AS. I'm a long time fan of the chevron reticule of the SVD and ultimately I think triangle or german post type reticules are my favorites...though I do REALLY like the PK-AS dot. I just find that chevrons are more effective for me in general...good for snap shots up close where you plaster the chevron on the target, and good for more precise shooting at longer ranges because of the fine point of the chevron.
As far as recommendations go I think price would settle it for me at this point. If I could get a used PK-AS-V for less than $300 I think that would be worth considering, though I really have no problems paying $400 for a Rakurs. They are worth it IMO.
eta I'm also becoming a huge fan of Obzor too. It's a tad higher than I prefer but the reticule is almost hypnotically cool to me and I've been having a lot of fun with it lately.
