Arsenal Inc Las Vegas, NV vs Arsenal USA Houston, TX
I recently purchased an Arsenal SLR-95. I am an idiot for assuming but....i assumed that is was from Arsenal Inc in Las Vegas. I contacted them just to get some info because it is hard to find and they informed me that it was imported by Arsenal USA out of Houston, TX. The company Arsenal Inc Las Vegas has the exact same logo as the Arsenal factory in Bulgaria. So the arsenal logo is milled into the SLR-95. Why would they have all these different companies with the exact same logo and what is the difference between the Bulgarian AKs imported by Arsenal USA and those imported by Arsenal Inc in NV? I really have liked the SLR-95 so its fine I was just kinda confused and kinda POed that they wouldn't make their products more distinctive.
someone will probably better answer this but Arsenal Inc in nevada is the american counterpart to the bulgarian Arsenal company, that's why they use the same logo. Arsenal Inc has also stated that guns imported/sold by them will say "arsenal las vegas nevada" on the left side.
Arsenal in texas just imported some guns made by Arsenal bulgaria but had nothing to do with the Arsenal companies, that's why your gun has the Arsenal logo but doesn't say las vegas.
Your Arsenal in texas is obviously a crappy copy, I will take it from you for $150
First, SLR-95 are great guns, some consider them better guns than current Arsenal stuff. Both SA-93 and SLR-95/96 were imported back in the 90's by the texas outfit. Then it closed down and Arsenal opened the shop in Vegas.
The SLR-95 is a good one. It is a keeper.
Yea, I have enjoyed it, but It really just never crossed my mind that the same logo would be whored around like that ha. Really appreciate all the input so far.
Arsenal in Texas was the 1st US Importer of Arsenal Bulgaria products, but a few years later the Bulgarian company figured business was good, so they opened their distributor in Las Vegas. For a while, both companies were in business at the same time, so the Texas company changed the name to Global Trades to differentiate the 2 companies. Eventually Global was cut off from buying Bulgarian parts, & imported parts from many other countries, & continued to assemble guns from these parts. Their last project was the SSR 85C2. Eventually, they sold out to Elk River. However, the '95 was imported by many companies, not just Arsenal Texas. GARY N4KVE
What is the story on an Arsenal SLR-95 w/ DGI Virginia Beach, VA markings? No TX or LV.
