Hungarian furniture

Is it all blonde? Any darker colors, maybe a russkie red or something similar? I will be building a AMD 63 and I have a really nice buttstock, but it isn't blonde. Anybody have any pics of Hungarian rifles with something other than blonde furniture?

im pretty sure they only ever used solid beech or plastic. as for correctness- if your using an amd-65 front end, and putting a wood stock on it, that rifle never existed, and the hungarians never used the nametype amd-63. they did have an akm-63, which had a regular akm barrel profile and the metal lower hg with vert grip that we all know and a full stock. so with that in mind, use whatever wood makes you happy, but if you have a real akm-63 kit, and need a correct looking buttstock, id go with ironwood.

Yeah, sorry about the misnomer. I meant to say AKM-63. It will be exactly like you described except the wood won't be blond.

Long wait and pricey. So on my SA85 I went with KVAR black polymer. On my AMD 65 I am keeping it stock.

Can you still get AMD kits, how much, where, and could you convert a Chinese preban to that configuration? How about underfolder kits? I already have on Poly Legend underfolder. email me if you can at randyishmael@cox.net
