I am not sure which it really is the AMD-63 or AKM-63 but I have a question concerning the finish of the weapon.
I am currently going to undertake building an AKM-63 build by doing the following. Using an AMD-65 kit
with a romy ak barrel. Using a fixed trunnion and blonde wooden stock.
I still need the hung. blonde wood stock and fixed trunnion but have the rest on hand.
My kit is in need of refinishing for sure. SO, I can lightly sand blast and then blue the parts in the kit. Once
that is done they will come out looking like a matt almost black finish. Or should I polish some parts like the hand
guard and blue them. Or should I just paint them all. ?
In other words.........What was the original AKM-63's finished as I want my "mutt" build to look as correct
as possible.
And if anyone has a blonde hung stock and trunnion lying around..........

please drop me a line.
Thanks for any input.
AKW
they were originally painted flat black. Ironwood designs makes a nice buttstock for you, and that will count towards compliance. and they originally had a muzzle nut, sou you can loose that amd-65 brake.
Thank you. SO I should just have it painted to be historically correct?
Instead of blueing it at all. Just have it painted black.
Flat black or matt black?
Thanks
