Do you need to take off the stock to see if the receiver is straight or angled?

I am pretty sure the answer is yes, it is the only way to be absolutely sure.

I think you can look down inside it with the dust cover off, no?

ironwoodesigns.com has a custom fit stock you can get for the angle cut maks.

You can see from inside the receiver, but it's not the easiest thing in the world.
