 NHM 90 recoil spring

I've been watching some youtube videos of the "emergency reload" and noticed a lot of shooters reaching over and racking their op rod with their support hand to keep the trigger hand at the ready. I tried doing this myself with my NHM 90 and the thing is damn hard to do with the opposite hand.

Several other videos seem to show AK owners racking the op rod as if pulling a string. Does anyone know if the Norinco's have notoriously strong recoil springs? Will replacing the spring cause any FTF issues? Or am I just being a pansy?

Just don't get all caught up in what all the other "tacticool ninjas" are doing and run your rifle like you always have. I've seen that way of running the bolt and think it's fucking stupid if you ask me.
I've tried it and don't find it to be a useful method at all. Plus I must be a pussy too, because I barely have the strength to do it either.
It's seems like a very unnatural position for your hand/wrist where you have very little strength to work with.

Skinny starving underfed people from 3'rd world shit-holes have successfully been racking their bolts and killing folks for 60+ years without doing it that way. I'm good without it too.

Oh good, I thought maybe I need to hit the gym more often I agree with you, though. I think that some of the tactics employed by the tacticool ninjas, while impressive, would only work in range/3 gun competitions and not in a real world scenario.

Supposedly this is how Russian Spec Ops are trained to reload, but I have yet to see an actual source of that info.

I've never had any trouble running the bolt on any of my AK's using my weak hand while keeping my firing hand on the grip. It's actually a very viable reloading method that also works well with SIG's. I reach under the rifle with my left hand and catch the bolt handle with my thumb. It's very fast and also works well with malfunction drills
