I just picked up my WASR 10 yesterday from the FFL guy, great guy only charged me $15 bucks. First AK I have owned, have fired a few. Brought it home, cleaned it, loaded it and fired 60 rounds. No problems, was hitting a coke can about 50 yrds away, pretty good I thought without zeroring it.
I did noticed the rail system on the side, does anyone have a picture of a scope or something set up using the side rail system, I haven't decieded if I am going to scope this weapon or not. But if I do, was wondering what is the best system to install
Thanks
Rob
The POSP 4x24 is a great little scope for the money. It's simple, rugged, and effective. Some good pics at the link:

You want pictures? Check out the various picture threads here in the AK forums. For my standard AKs one of the PSOP scopes like what Centerfiresystems has works just fine. For the longer range type calibers I got a Kalinka PSOP 3-9x42 which does great (again, pictures there of these scopes mounted).

I have the Psop 6x24 and this mount here that I put a red dot sight on and they both hold zero every time I take it on or off

Not the greatest mount as it only has rings not a rail but it works and is very solid. I had to replace some pins and a screw that walked out after 2 years of use though.
Either of the two side mounts shown below will work well with your AK.
The one on the right (BP-01) sits very low and the one on the left sits higher. Both are directly over the receiver with no off-set whatsoever. They fit very tightly and if you have a quality sight, you won't lose zero by mounting/dismounting the mount.
