First time PSL owner finally, after searching for a few years the funds and a decently priced one finally fell into my lap. Shes got Ironwood Designs upgraded walnut furniture made to work with the shortened barrel (17.5 in). Psop Pro 6x42 Mildot illum scope. Unfortunately thats not a real suppressor but a larger brake, similar to a Troy claymore for reference. Thinking about getting a Nodak Spud Tabuk flash hider. Any good reference sites out there for these guns are anything they need to run well/better?

Congrats man!

You can install a better trigger group to get rid of that creep on the pull, other than that all you need are bullets & mags

I was in the same boat your were in. I thought PSL's looked damn classy, and had always wanted one. No regrets with buying it.

Nice looking rifle. The NDS Tabuk flash hider would look good on that rifle.

It does need a better trigger, its not heavy/gritty but extremely long. I'm sure you guys know that but its useable for a while anyways. What do you guys suggest to replace it? I loved the walnut on this thing, it just "fits". I hope to suppress it one day as all my ar's have cans. I think that'd just set this thing over the top of the average PSL's. I like how the Tabuk f/h looks but it seems to function well too in videos I've seen.

Nice looking rifle, 1 of the better altered PSL's I've seen. As far as the trigger goes, I polish all bearing surfaces but don't change the angle on any of the parts, it makes an incredible difference. If you need to swap out the trigger system, I've never used one but Red Star would be my first choice based on reviews here on the forum. http://www.onesourcetactical.com/redstararms-adjustabletriggerkit.aspx

Took it out tonight and can't say it runs 100%. Lots of ftf and fte. Are these finicky guns with mags? Seems harder to tune this system compared to say an ar15.

Yes, just standard 14mm LH threads. Works well as a flash hider cause HO-LEE shit a 17.5 barrel makes a helluva flash. I thought my M44 was bad.

One of the magazines had an issue with feeding, kept jamming, I had it in a lower right pocket. I meant to fix it one of these days but never got to it.
Try the other magazines, because once you figure out which one it is, you should not have any issues feeding or ejecting these things. I have shot a good amount of rounds though this rifle and never had an issue. However, I mostly shot Wold Gold (NON corrosive) with a handful of surplus ammo.

By the way Nice looking rifle if I may say so myself!

Yes it is. Seemed to be the only decent deal for a PSL with some good character and non-standard 4x scope I could find. Can't see myself paying 1100 for a regular PSL like the EE has.

Lol Deussne, I only tried one mag and I'm not even sure which one. Not mad just heard that these are finicky guns sometimes so I figured I'd ask. Definitly love this gun though.

A lot of the magazines that are being imported have the springs installed incorrectly. Open them up and see if they are. Simple fix. Can't remember which site had instructions on how to do this, but the instructions are out there. 0 mag issues with all 4 of mine now

Try it and see if it works.

Found it at the akfiles.com, sorry not made hot I'm on my droid.

Edit: the mentioned nose diving bullets on the feed stroke is exactly what mine was doing so I can't wait to test them out tomorrow.

That's odd. Having built several AKs and ARs and my PSL I wouldn't say the PSL is finicky. While I first was going to respond saying that is very nice looking and shouldn't need anything more than a trigger, if it is not feeding and extracting that's not good. Granted it may be the ammunition. I have found that some of the Hungarian surplus for whatever reason doesn't have the same tight tolerances as other ammunition. My brother brought some one time when I was shooting the PSL and since the headspace is so tight it wouldn't go into battery. All the surplus I have shot since (especially my reloads) have all cycled without incident and group rather well. I'm not a big fan of ARs because of their being finicky. Before I discovered AKs I was a hardcore M1 kinda guy who only dealt with ARs to be polite.

Here is another potential problem. Its the lips on the mags, they arent fitted to the gun. VERY easy fix
