Best mags for a Saiga 12?

I'm wondering what Saiga 12 mags you guys are using. The 5-round Russian that came with the gun is flawless. I have a 10-round ProMag box mag though, and it won't even fully seat, even empty. It looks like it might be stopping insertion on the lip that's supposed to run along the bottom of the receiver. Is this normal? Did I just get a bad mag? What can I buy that will work properly?

It looks like I can buy more Russian 5-round mags, which I may do, but what route do you guys take for higher-cap mags?

Hm. A little digging turned up this guide. I suppose this applies to all mags, not just drums?

Well now I know how to make them fit. Still, which mags do you all prefer?

I've had great performance with AGP Arms 10-round magazines - no fitting required, and they are a great bunch of guys too. Surefires work OK for me also, though I have heard of them breaking with hotter ammo. The MD Arms drums are well made but need to be tuned just right to run 100%. I would not trust my life to any Saiga 12 with any magazine, but for range and competition work they can be great.

The best mag is the original Russian 8 rounder. But they are super rare and expensive.

I use both AGP and SGM mags and both work well for me. My Saiga 12 is strictly a hunting rig for me however, it doesn't see any really hard use.

I have never had a problem with my Surefire 10 rounders or my MD Arms 20 round drums. I've put hundreds of shells through each.

I did have to have the drums fitted to my receiver though, but other than that they've been wonderful. The surefire ran just fine out of the box... er bag.

AGP has pretty crappy customer service. They expected me to pay for replacement mag springs after their improperly heat treated springs broke from a couple of cycles.

I'll stick with SGM.
