I know a guy that is selling a Yugo M70 Reweld. It looks great and functions well, but what are the drawbacks from shooting a rewelded AK? Please let me know before I commit to buy and down the road regret it. Thank you.

Done properly, a re-weld build is bulletproof. My M64 (re-weld from Matt Yeamans) has been flawless. My milled M70 (re-weld from Wiselite) has been equally good. If you're confident in the builder's competence, go for it.

+1 for Matt, he did 2 milled M70's for me that came out great, and will be doing a milled M64 soon.

Matt Yeamans did 4 M70 rewelds for me and they came out great except for the magwells. With some mags it was a perfect fit ,but others the opening was too tight. There is a fine line between too big and too small. You dont want the magazines to rattle. He easilly accepted them back and returned them in a few weeks .Now they are PERFECT magwells. One thing that pissed me off about him is that the price he quoted included refinishing, but he did not refinish them.He gave some lame excuse. It took about 6 mos to get the guns back from him but i think he did all the work in the last 2 weeks after i inquired on what was going on with the guns.Despite these criticisms he did a great reweld and I would use him again without any doubt......Rich

are you sure about that? Ive seen a lot of his work and read many of his posts and im pretty sure he doesnt offer refinishing on his rewelds. Perhaps he made a special deal with you?
