AK Concepts has developed a recoil compensator that not only lessens the recoil of your AK47, but does so without a significant increase in blast noise directed toward the shooter or individuals next to the shooter.

Click the link below to watch a video demonstration of the this product.

Video Demo

Note that the AMD65 being used in this video has the stock folded to the side.

While shooting the video of the slant brake, we actually had to start shooting lower to keep the weapon from climbing and shooting the power lines.

Much like the DNTC Compensator, we are so confident in this product that if you are not satisfied with the performance of this product, we invite you to send it back to us for a refund.

This compensator will also fit the AMD65 and other variants firing the 7.62x39 with a 14mm thread. The J-Tac47p is for pistols or rifles that are threaded 1/2x28.

While I've never been a big fan of compensator's just for the simple reason of increase in noise level. I bought one from AKconcepts to try on my M70UF I was really surprised in the decrease in recoil with very little increase in noise level...So now I have 3 of them 2 on AK's 1 on my AR. They are a great company to do business with. Their customer service is unlike any I've ever dealt with in the firearm's industry.

I know this is primarily a muzzle brake but how does muzzle flash compare with the slant type muzzle brake?

If the AK version is similar to the AR version, it will be very similar. Stickman will be testing and reporting on the AR style, but reviews by others suggest a "less than A2 FH but more than YHM phantom" flash. The phantom is almost as good as it gets in flash suppression, second only to Smith's Vortex. Watch for his review.

I'm ordering the AR version for an ultra-light build... may just hafta get one for an AK too.

The AK comp and the AR comp are two completely different designs. That being said, neither version was ever intended to reduce the flash - that has just been a fortunate side effect.

Although we have not tested them side by side at night, we have not noticed any increase in muzzle flash between the standard slant brake and the J-Tac47.

Hope this helps.

For those in flash suppressor unfriendly states, the BATFE has ruled both the DNTC Compensator and the J-Tac47 Compensator non-flash hiding/suppressing devices.

Below is an excerpt from the letter received from the Firearms Technology Branch (FTB):

The testing of the submitted muzzle attachments by FTB determined that the flash reduction effectiveness of these devices is not comparable to that of the equivalent military-style flash suppressor(s). The submitted items did not effectively dampen the flash signature of the .223 caliber AR-15 type firearm or the 7.62x39 caliber AK-47 type firearm. Therefore FTP has determined that the J-Tac47 Compensator and the NDTC Compensator are not “flash suppressors.”

I finally received the hard copy of the letter from the ATF declaring the DNTC and the J-Tac47 non-flash suppressors. Below is the link to the letter for anyone needing it. (for those of you who don't live in a free state) (sorry... I couldn't resist.

Can I send you an MO for the JTAC (regular AK version w/ 14:1 threads) and mag latch extension?

I totaled it up including Priority shipping to 61455 and it came out to

$106.85

Just wondering if this would be okay?

Thanks!

email me - perhaps I can send you one to try and see how it works. The only 5.45 that I have is the Krink in 24mm. In theory - it should work quite well.

Email me and we'll go from there.

Any plans on a 25mmX1.5 7.62 version?

If/when we do a 24mm version - we could leave some unthreaded so that you could cut them to that thread - but I don't see it very likely for us to do a production run on a thread like that.
