IWB few choices here please give feedback
Im looking at Comp-tac Minotaur MTAC, A super-tuck deluxe from Crossbreed, and a few offerings from DSG arms /Amourdillo... Is the Comp Tac the most popular?.. the clips lok a little cheap to me.. but i am new to this, basically im looking for some suggestions from you guys. I will be running my USP 9mm FS for now.. feel free to comment on that choice as well.
also i was liking the fact that a few of these very minimalistic kydex holsters can be used as OWB as well, do i have many options there?
There are going to be a lot of different thoughts on this one! Some other sites have done surveys and CB ST has been by far the most popular.
My favorite is the CB ST in Horsehide. However, everybody like mtac as well. I wanted as little kydex as possible.
Oh.. I have two Crossbreeds with no problems at all with the clips.
Good Luck!
I used a mtac for at least three years until I switched to aiwb and never had a problem with the plastic clips. They are fairly flexible and forgiving. You can't go wrong with a matc, the ability to adjust cant and depth of the gun inside your pants is a great option.
I've been using Comp-tac IWB holsters for years. Mostly CTAC, but some MTAC as well. They use the same clips. Those clips are GTG in my experience. I've never broken or worn anything out on a Comp-tac.
I wear a minotaur spartan (an mtac without the color or the back leather to cover the hardware), and it's ridiculously comfortable, way more so than any other IWB holster I've ever owed, and those kydex clips are good to go. Sturdy, yet flexible. I'm careful with them (well, not careful, just not prying them open to take them off my belt). I'm generally gentle with them and I haven't had to replace a pair yet.
Honestly, I think the metal on the CB would wear out faster than flexible kydex

but I have no experience there.
+1 for the mtac

I'm happy with my King Tuk. The metal clips are beefy but not obtrusive, and it's very comfortable. My G19 carries very easily with a double-layer belt.
The downside is that you can't interchange kydex holster bodies on the King Tuk like you can with some of the others, but the upside is that it's less expensive than a Comp-Tac or Crossbreed, and in stock at major retailers with no wait.
+1 for the Crossbreed Supertuck, easily conceals my full size XDm 9. Great warranty as well, I bent one of the metal clips catching it on a seat belt. Had a new one within three days of calling them.
Check out Pitbull Tactical - comfortable kydex that come with extra loops for either IWB or OWB:

I love my MTAC. Another great thing about it is the ability to buy different kydex to fit other pistols. It sounds like you're not sure about your carry choice so that may be a plus for you. I have shells for and have carried in my MTAC a 5" 1911, 4" 1911, full size XD40 and subcompact XD40. I also own a Crossbreed minituck for my Ruger LCP. It's a great holster but also a tiny, easy to carry gun.
if you opt for a hybrid, i'd look at the Kobelson or the MTAC––the CB's back is too flappy and flimsy, and folds inwards after several months
The MTAC has been the best so far for me, I have been trying different holsters for awhile and have stuck with this...

I've got two horsehide Super Tucks, one for my M&P 40 and 9c and another for my SIG P 220 Carry Equinox and I have had excellent results with both.
I'm always carrying a gun as I have for over forty years, and the Crossbreeds have been the most comfortable, concealable, and stable IWB holsters I have ever used to carry a large frame pistol with.
I had a Comp-tac M-Tac as well and it was "alright ".
Oddly enough, I prefer the 1 1/2" Comp-tac Kydex Reinforced Contour Belt over the Crossbreed belt.
