Need deep concealment recommendations
I was just informed within the next month I will most likely be getting the project manager position at my work.

I have worked at this office for roughly 6 months now and have been carrying mostly a Kahr CW9 while in business attire. We recently switched to casual attire and I started carrying my M&P9c. Both are carried with a MTAC IWB holster. Most days I wear a loose fitting button down shirt or polo with an undershirt. At work I mostly keep my undershirt tucked OVER my pistol to make sure I dont have any issues.
With the new position on the way I am worried I may upset some folks who have been gunning for the position much longer than I have. Being relatively new there are some people who have made it obvious they do not like how quickly I have progressed. My co-worker who has become a great friend also carries at work. He typically carried in a bookbag though. We discussed it this evening and he thinks I should look into some deeper concealment options to make sure that no one finds out that I carry.
During my orientation when I was hired HR made it slightly obvious that they know people in the building carry and to go by the golden rule, "concealed means concealed." If I do get the new position I will still be casual dress and wanted to see if anyone could recommend a deeper concealment method. Maybe a belly band?
I am not very serious about the position and would rather be armed and fired then dead. The building has a wide variety of individuals and I typically stay till 8. Its dark when I leave and there has been stolen cars and break-ins. I do have the option to carry my M&P in my bag and maybe keep a small backup gun on my person in a deep concealment.
Just wanted to see if anyone else has been in this situation and if someone could recommend a good deep concealment option. I am option to purchasing another pistol.
ankle holster or a pocket pistol.
smartcarry.com
.Five O holster
ThreeSpeed Holster
I've never been busted with the smartcarry and I use my M&P 9c in it all the time. To include: During professional outings when my livelihood could be compromised if someone saw or touched it. As well as social events where the sheeple give a hello and goodby hug or touch my back from behind.
Unless they touch your crotch... they aren't going to know. This includes Cops an other Good Guys. Bad Guys. There is just no need to worry about being busted unless there's a metal detector to deal with.
I did have to trim the holster down to make it serviceable. Basically, I eliminated the center stitch and make it fit the gun like a glove.
These deep concealment holsters are much faster on the draw than most will admit. It does take practice though. No different than any other draw method.
The altered smartcarry is comfortable enough that I can wear it from the moment I wake to the moment I go to bed. Wrestle with the kids. Ride bikes. Play golf. Work around the house.
Most here will not give the thumbs up on this style holster because they can't get past the traditional IWB/Duty Belt or ankle holster style concealment rigs for dutyy caliber guns.
It seems they would rather you not carry if you cannot use those methods. I guess it's all they know because that's what's being trained in classes.
Air Marshalls and undercover cops know different though....

Exactly what I was going to post.
Bellyband ( don't know why they call it that? You don't wear it around your belly)
Or any holster similar
Unless you go with what I consider to be unreasonably deep crotch-stuffing holsters like Smartcarry etc. I say the most practical is to go with pocket carry, and to keep something plausible, like a thin notebook over the pocket holster to completely block the outline, and give you "plausible deniability" if someone ever asks you about it.

After reading some of your earlier posts about this, I thought it's worth a try and I bought a smartcarry. For me, the M&P9c is a little big for the smartcarry position, but it's doable. I use it only when the MTAC is not an option.
I still find myself usually going unarmed, though, when the MTAC won't work.
The biggest hang up for me is that since it's a
soft holster in the front position, I just can't bring myself to put a round in the pipe. To me, the risk of a serious or fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound, although low, is greater than the risk of a serious or fatal badguy-inflicted wound. Add to that the fact that it is a significantly slower, more awkward draw. It's almost useless in a mugging-type situation.
Therefore I only see it as an option for having a gun closer at hand than out in the truck in the event of a mass shooting scenario or something. Mostly it makes me try harder to dress around the MTAC. YMMV
ETA: I'm still looking for deep concealment options that allow me to not have a gun at the 4:00 position.
It's nice to see someone actually giving it a try instead of giving an uneducated opinion. If it doesn't work for you, then it doesn't.
The 9c works fine for me with loose fit jeans and slacks. Anything tighter and the J-frame goes in the same holster. I'm not overweight though and I realize this holster is going to be slower for those with a gut.
And while I'm not as fast as the guy I youtube-linked in this thread...

... I'm faster on the draw with the smartcarry than I am with my ComTac Spartan when my shirt is tucked.
Even though the material is soft, it is tight fitting. That means it offers the same protection as a cordura style holster and I see no reason to fear it just as I don't fear for my safety when walking in front of a car stopped at a light.
I've been carrying a SIG 232 in a DeSantis belly band for close to 10 years now, and it's been working fine. The only time anyone ever knows I'm carrying, is if I chose to tell them. I carry at what I guess you'd call the appendix position, with a round in the chamber, but I feel that the 232 is a safe little gun and won't go off unless the trigger is pulled (Hard for the first DA shot), so I don't worry about it. I can wear it low enough so that just the tip of the butt sticks out above the beltline, and that way all my the Polo or other warm weather shirts I wear cover it well. I also prefer to wear a Tee shirt under Polo's and others, which makes for a nice little layer of material between my pot belly and the gun. The only drawback is that it's a bit uncomfortable if you have to bend way down, like to tie your shoes, but I can live with that easy enough.

I'm glad it works for you. My post was not meant to slam you or the smartcarry. It's just to give a review of my personal experience with it, for what that's worth.
My problem with it being a poor choice for muggers is probably 80% my own choice to not chamber it in that setup. I agree, getting the trigger pulled through the cloth is highly unlikely. I'm not sure what kind of jostling or settling or adjusting screw ups it would take to cause a NG , but whenever I start considering it something in my head says no, it's not worth it. Not in a pocket style holster pointing that way. I guess I have a very low risk tolerance.
For anyone who carries in front, do you carry with the gun entirely below your belt? If I position the gun with the top just behind the belt buckle it's much quicker to get out, but it makes my belt buckle stick out another inch. On me that's a lot and very noticeable. If I put it below the belt buckle and tighten the belt an extra notch over the top it hides better, but it's buried too deep for a quick draw.

Thanks! I may pick up a 3Speed Holster. Been talking with the owner and I am going to try it out for my CW9. The CW9 is slim enough that I dont think it would "bulge" to much in my pants. This setup would only be for deep concealment and I would carry the M&P9c in my backpack. I just refuse to not have my firearm on me. The CW9 also is a DAO so it has a long trigger pull that I dont think would be able to be pulled while its stashed in my pants.
On the weekends I will go back to my MTAC or my custom kydex holsters.
I have an NAA mini .22 magnum. If you have ever seen the elongated, Texas style checkbook length wallets, I carry an empty one with my pistol in it. Thug wants my wallet, I hand it to him, slip my finger under and shoot him. Will prevent muggings. Look at the ruger lcp and lc9, as well as the kel tec p11 with a back pocket holster. Some have a flat piece of plastic that prevents printing.
LCP 380, or S&W Bodyguard 380 with a pocket holster (Nemesis). A NAA mini revolver 22LR or 22 magnum works well to. I have carried all 4 and the 380 has more bang for the buck IMO.
i carry a 1911 commander with a bellyband at the same position as if i had my IWB crossbreed on, it makes it easiar to tuck the button up shirt

I use the same belly band when I wear gym shorts or swim trunks
Ankle carry with a PM9 works well for me. You might want to get a CM9 though, they are much more affordable. They will both use the same mags as your CW9 though.
