Can someone who's ordered help me with a Crossbreed holster order?
I am wanting to order the right holster for my Glock 19.
There are several options and most everyone is one that I would prefer to try before buying. I had hoped to do this at their booth at the NRA convention this weekend, but they only had one model.
I am pretty sure I want the Supertuck (based on reviews) with the Horsehide. However, which hooks to go with, and whether I get the "Combat cut" I am not sure. I am thinking I dont want the CC, but not sure.
Would like to have a current discussion on the various options. I want to be able to daily carry the Glock and practice with at the range. Just would like to hear opinions, thanks.
I purchased the standard supertuck in cowhide with the standard clips. No combat cut.
I love it just the way it is. Very comfortable.
You should watch the crossbreed seconds site. that is where I bought mine at a pretty good discount.

I have two Crossbreed STs; one in regular leather for my 1911 and one in horsehide for the Glock. If you are ordering one, the only way to go is horsehide. (MHO) I have the metal clips. Some folks complain about them, but they continue to work great for me. I would not get the combat cut. You can do it later if you want. I would not order the matching mag pouch as I feel there are better options.
Regardless, you will not be sorry with this holster.
If you are, I'll buy it from you! My wife wants one!

I have the standard cut in horsehide on my Supertuck for my G26. It's a great holster as it is. I love mine.
I have the metal clips.
I got a Supertuck for my 26 last year. You'll like the horsehide... it feels indestructible, yet comfy. I went with the standard clips, but I may add some MTAC clips at some point... they are more plain, I feel the cross makes the ST clips stand out (especially on a guy that doesn't believe in religion... no haters please). The combat cut can be done later DIY style if you'd like. Then you have total control over how much is getting cut off. I left mine as is. Practice drawing with the holster without the combat cut and it'll become like second nature. The only change i did to mine is I used a hair dryer to heat the plastic and tighten it up around the front inside edge of the trigger guard and the ejection port, for a touch more retention.
It's a really nice holster, most people I know who've tried them like them.
I also have one regular leather, and one horsehide supertuck. Go horsehide, it's stiffer, keeps shape better. I tried other clip options, but the standard clips work best for me.
You can always cut the 'combat cut' away yourself if you think it's needed. (you probably won't)
Overall a very comfortable and functional holster.
I have 3 . Two supertucks and a Quick clip. I like the Horsehide better. Well worth the extra$ . None of mine are combat cut and both Supertucks have metal clips. No problems. Great product.
Another vote for horsehide, metal clips and NO combat cut...

I have a Supertuck in both Horse and Cow... I like the horse better simply because it doesn't transfer the black color of the leather onto the pistol. Not a huge deal, just my .02.
I also stick with the metal clips, My CB's are over three years old and the clip tension is still near new.
And I'd stay with the regular cut as well.

Same here. I wear mine with a Glock 26 or 19. You could always do the cobalt cut yourself. I actually ordered mine for the 26 but it will work with many Glocks.
I have been using a Supertuck in horsehide with the standard clips for the last year. My vote is definitely for the horsehide and standard clips. I'm torn on the combat cut. I am used to drawing the weapon with the ST as is but would be curious to try one with the combat cut. Like many have stated it might be best to just get the ST as is and later DIY combat cut that way you can cut it to how you would want it not just their standard combat cut. Regardless don't hesitate to buy the horsehide suptertuck, it's worth the money.

This, as others mentioned, you can always combat cut yourself later, in small increments to your own personal taste.
Tag..I have a G-19 that I need to order for soon
Thanks guys. I think I will stick with the basics as many here seem to advocate.
Horsehide, standard cut, standard clips.
I bought a cowhide Supertuck with the combat cut for a Glock 30 with the standard clips. I recently purchased a horsehide second off the website without the combat cut for a Glock 36, with the standard clips. I ended up making my own combat cut in a few minutes because it is a lot easier to draw with the combat cut., These holsters are NOISY, and the horsehide seems to be worse. It has taken about a month of everyday wear, and about 50 miles of walks, to get the cowhide version to settle down to the point where I would wear it in a library. I am not looking forward to the break-in process with the 36 and will probably cut up some felt furniture floor protectors and put them between the clips and the leather.
I have the horsehide Supertuck, standard clips.......and while I ordered it with no Combat Cut, I did end up cutting one in myself. It's a lot easier to draw, IMO. But still, order it without, because it's a few $$ cheaper and you can always cut your own.
Crossbreed holsters are great.
I usually order my SuperTuck holsters in horse with no combat cut - they work fine for me, although the horse squeaks a little.
I also have a Snap Slide in cow that is comfortable and much quieter.

My thoughts based on my holster. (I have a QuickClip, the one with one clip, regular leather, not combat cut, IWB and extra holes for adjusting the angle.)
Combat cut might be OK if you are not a bit paunchy like me. The big leather flap definitely helps my holster stay more comfortable.
While the second clip would probably help a bit with stability and getting it on, it would hinder getting it off (two steps instead of one) and again, if you are a bit paunchy might make it too wide.
Adjusting the angle was fun when I first got it, but I settled on the default position it came in.
I carry at the 4 or 5 position, with my belt hiked up so it's over my kidney. (Again, too paunchy for it to be in front.)
I grabbed one off the Seconds list this morning.
Doesnt give all the details, but it is a SuperTuck for G19/17, horsehide,RH in VG condition.
Not sure exactly what will show up, LOL, but it was $53 shipped. Not sure how long it will take. Will update once I get it.
Get the combat cut. I started with the normal cut and ended up mailing it back for the combat cut after taking a concealed carry tactics course. I was unable to get a proper grip on the pistol with the normal cut and had to adjust my grip during the draw. That is no good. I'm a big guy, 5'9 200 lbs and I didn't notice a sacrifice in comfort after getting the combat cut. Getting a solid grip on the pistol when initially getting your hands on the firearm is key so with no loss of comfort the combat cut is a no brainer. I think the combat cut should be the standard model.

For what its worth, I am a big guy too. 6' 4" and 220. Not sure how that affects holster grip.
But, I didnt order the Combat cut. I ordered off the seconds list. A horsehide Supertuck, RH for G19. VG for $45. If I want the Combat Cut, I will eithermodify or send it back for them to do it.
I will give it a try nd expect it to work great. Especially for the price. I found out something about Crossbreed seconds. When they say send cash, they mean it. I initially mailed them a check, not wanting to put cash in the mail. About a week later, as I anxiously await my holster, I get a letter back from CrossbreedSeconds. They had returned my check saying they wanted cash. Anyway, I sent them another envelope with cash in it.
Expecting the holster any day now. Will post a review when it gets here.

Don't waste your money on shipping it back and paying them to cut it for you.
I literally cut my own with a pair of my girlfriend's super sharp crafting scissors.

Any good scissors will do, or you can take an exacto knife to it.
I got the holster today. Appears to be in new 100% condition.
Very comfortable initially. Going to try it for a week or so and report back.
How do you guys draw without the combat cut? I have a CB without combat cut as well as a Galco KingTuk (which does have a combat cut). With the KingTuk I can draw from it normally. With the CB, I have to draw by placing my thumb on the back of the grip until it clears the holster, then I shift my grip normal. I worry though that this draw method is not as secure and I could end up dropping or losing the gun in a high stress situation.
