I have some 33 round glock magazines that I rarely actually use. I am about to build a g17 for USPSA and was wondering if the extensions off the 33 rounders would function fine with the 17 rounders. I'm assuming they will, but I thought I would make sure before I disassemble all of them.

What division are you going to be shooting your G17 in?

I have been using a g19 in the stock service pistol division. I haven't got to shoot competitively for a few months because of work and school. I'm itching to get back into it.

I do it more for training that to win. Of course I like scoring well, but I don't expect to beat the race guns and what not. Although I have beat numerous race gun guys with a g19.

Yes, they will work with your G17 mags. I assume you are shooting Production Division in USPSA. Stock Service Pistol is IDPA.

correct me if I am wrong but I thought USPSA production class was a 10 round mag limit?

To answer your question OP, yes the factory extension will function fine on a factory G17 mag. My carry mag is a G17 with the factory extension on it

IPSC has mag dimension restrictions.

But he does not have to shoot production with a Glock 17. He couls shoot open with it.

Also there is production and production-10

Glock recommends using an 11-coil G22 magazine spring when you're using the +2 on a G17 magazine, rather than the standard 10-coil G17 magazine spring. But it should work fine with the original spring.

The extension will work, but it's the mag spring that you need to be careful of, you may need an extra coil or +power spring.

I ended up putting them on some g19 mags instead. I used them yesterday and they seemed to function perfectly.
