Sig P250 any good?
Thoughts on this? Wife wants a first handgun.
Really dont like the DA action only.
Not a fan. 226,229 great though
What about 2022? Is that da as well?

And too Glockish for my tastes but it is a smooth, slick trigger pull.

Interested in this as well. I was in the gunshop today looking for possible 1st handgun for wifey.
I held a P250, a kahr cm9, and a glock G26. I think I might get the G26 for myself.
I got my first rifle when I was six, but I didn't even fire a pistol 'til I was thirty-eight. It was a P250 and I bought it. I like mine (which shoots low like a lot of them seem to), but then I don't have much experience on other platforms (Bersa Thunder, and Springfield XD9 only). Here's my list:
Good:
Almost no controls: mag release, slide release, trigger, takedown lever: done
Reliable (at least mine is)
Smooth trigger (once again, mine is)
Very few parts –– easy to clean
DAO is simple and you can't get to the hammer easily
No safety to remember
Comes with tritium sights
Ambidextrous: slide release on both sides and the mag release is reversible using a paperclip
If you like it, but would rather have a different caliber or size, it's very easy to switch
Bad:
Only factory magazines (which is kind of good in a way as well)
Reduced holster options vs. other more popular choices
Shoots low (this one is common, SIG puts a post on the front that is too short –– even taking into account a SIG's intended sight picture)
Default M-width grip module will likely be too large for a female –– at least the smaller grip module is available –– same with shorter trigger
High bore + light weight = loads o' torque –– when my wife tried to counteract this by using a high grip, she bruised the web of her hand, but she's a dainty flower
Other:
Interestingly, CLP is behaving as advertised on the barrel. It is has a glassy sheen and is slick at all times now (at about the 400-round mark).

I love my P250s, but then I am used to DAO triggers.

Ty for that..I know this is going to sound dumb..but the 250 is semi auto correct..when I think single action only I think..pull hammer back squeeze trigger..pull hammer back squeeze...and when I think double action only I think revolver...It could be that I am tired..so again if it sounds dumb forgive me.

DAO handguns, pistols or revolvers, don't have the hammer exposed. You can't cock the hammer back. The trigger both cocks and releases the hammer.

Wife picked up the Sub compact 9mm p250 she has small hands and this gun was perfect for her. we fired 100rnds of federal jam free no problems and she shoots pretty good with it so were happy. she sold a glock 23 for this and is happy with the smaller size and less recoil...

No, its DA/SA with a decocker, like a 226, etc.
Just picked one up ourselves. My wife didn't like a buddy's G27, recoil was too snappy and the pistol was simply too small. Full frame (Like my 1911) was too big for her hands, but she didn't want a sub-compact either. She felt that the P250C in 9mm fit her the best.
I didn't want her to have to screw with an external safety in the event she had to clear leather, and I like that you can double-strike with the 250, but I'll teach her to smack-n-rack in the event of a misfire anyway..
Unless it has some sort of massive misgivings, it seems to be a well manufactured pistol that is perfectly sized, in a decent price range. Taking her to shoot it tomorrow, we shall see. :)

See what size the grip is, you can replace it with a S-S (Subcompact - Small grip) at TopGunSupply, I also added a shorter trigger for my wife and her friend - they have very small hands. Be aware, many people including me do not see any difference in the shorter trigger - it seems only to change the angle the trigger sits at, not the length/effort of pull. (RE: P250Sig.com for lots more opinions/facts).
I thought a low front sight would make you raise the front of the gun to make it align with the rear, thus making you shoot higher?
The trigger is not for everyone. Long DAO pull but it is a fairly light and smooth DA. I prefer the SIG P22X DA/SA pistols, but the P250 kind of calls to me. A friend of mine has one and I think I could get used to the trigger, but not so sure I want to since I already have all the P22X series.
The SP2022 is a great shooting gun. Probably the best trigger on a plastic framed pistol. Surprisingly accurate too. A real sleeper. Great gun for the money if you find one for around $400.

You are correct. I should have said the front sight post is too tall. SIG has a numbering scheme to make it easy to figure out which sight you need, but the numbers are reversed.
