Best choices for self-defense ammo - UPDATED
I finally got around to logging into the FTP server and uploaded a bunch
of changes. Most of the additions are ammunition tests from Doctor
Roberts. Look at the very end of the pistol and rifle section for the
links. Let me know if there are any links that aren't working for you.

Nice job, thanks for doing this
Thank you Boss
Cool deal. Thanks Zhukov.

Does it appear that the 135 +P Gold Dot is no longer the king of the hill of the 38 special loading?
Thanks!

I don't think I changed anything in that section.
Not saying you did sir.
Just interpreting the new data. Seems the Gold Dots are having trouble with plugging when fired through denim.
Unless I'm seeing the new data incorrectly.

Oh yeah - I remember that. It does seem like at least one lot had some issues.
Lazy ammo moderator is lazy.

Thats been up there for a long time now.
For a Standard pressure load Less kick/flip the CD 110 HP is worth looking into
I am new to hand guns and just picked up an M&P 40. Cabelas had a sale on Winchester Elite PDX1 Defender (Bonded 40 S&W 165 grain). Your thoughts on this ammo for home defense would be appreciated since I picked some up for that purpose.

See Ranger Bonded for results.

So bonded typically has the same characteristics across the board assuming the same bullet weight? I am sorry if this is a dumb question but I am seeking knowledge in an area that until now has been foreign to me.
The PDX1 is the same bullet as the Ranger Bonded.
Only the packaging is different on the PDX1, and it's priced higher.

according to hotpig
The 9mm ranger bonded isnt loaded with the newer PDX1 bullet yet
I noticed the velocity is quite high. Should I be concerned about firing this out of my M&P 40? Again forgive me , its my first hand gun.
