 PT911 problems...NOT *1911*

So I bought a Taurus PT911 today. Was my first handgun purchase, I WAS really excited. Bought two boxes of CCI Blazer Brass, and the owner gave me a box of Silver Bear to go with it. Go out tonight to see how it shoots, loaded the Silver Bear first, since it was free. Not one single round would cycle correctly...not one. Either the slide wouldn't even move, or it would stove-pipe, or it would eject and then fail to feed the next round all the way. Did this with two magazines of Silver Bear before I got fed up and went back up to the house to try the Blazer Brass. First loaded 3 rds of the Blazer and it was doing the same thing except that it cycled one round correctly. Loaded another 3 rds and 2 fired correctly. Loaded a full mag, and maybe 1/3 cycled correctly, the rest were either failure to feed or FTE. I don't know if this is a problem with the gun, the ammo, or what. If it seems the gun is defective, do you think the shop will take it back? I don't really want to just send it off to Taurus, I've just read about their customer service...or lack thereof. Please help!

First: check to make sure your grip on the pistol is nice and firm and your not "limp wristing" the pistol

Second: did you clean the pistol before firing it ?

Third: were you using one magazine ? if so try another as mags are often the cause of alot of problems.

Forth: some better ammo may help not really....it should have worked fine with both brands but if its dirty and wasnt cleaned it may have mad the gun malfunction with the cheaper ammo

if you have done everything correctly and are still having trouble its never a bad idea to give the gunshop a call aswell as taurus.... there not always as bad as some people make them out to be.. call and ask how long there turn around is and if they can tell you what may be the problem and if its ok to send it in.

good luck...let us know how it goes
