Special ordered a Taurus 24/7 OSS in .40 S&W, received it a couple of days ago. After getting it home and having a good look at it I discovered that the rear sight had been installed crooked. The dovetail groove was not cut straight so the sight is canted. Not ernough to interfere with aiming but it is clearly a cosmetic defect.

Took the gun to the range to test fire. Put 50 rounds of Winchester USA 165gr ammo through it without any jams or FTF. However, 3 or 4 times while I was firing in single action mode, the gun reverted to double action mode. Since this gun is primarily intended for self defense this is clearly less than optimal. Cabelas is standing behind the gun and has sent it in for repairs.

When I get the gun back I will re-post on how the reparis went and report on range functioning.

I basically like the gun a lot. It has all the features that I wanted and the double strike capability was a welcome addition. Ergonomics are great, the gun handles and points very well. Nite sights are very good. Fit and finish is not quite up to Springfield XDM standards but its not a ugly gun by any means.
