Anyone have their hands on the new version of the P22 (the P22Q)? I'm looking to get one or the other pretty soon. Price from my local dealer seems to be pretty much the same.

I didn't even know there was a new version. What's the difference(s)?

I'll be in the market for another one soon, for my son... took him shooting recently and he fell in love with my suppressed P22.

I didn't know there was a new version either until my dealer mentioned it...not 100% sure on the differences. I had to use google to find any information on it.

I hope they put a steel slide on it. I wish it had the long mag release my P99 does.

According to the specs I've seen, the P22Q is about 19.6 oz compared to the 15.1 oz. (without mag) of the regular P22...not sure where the extra weight is, but hopefully it is in the slide due to different material being used.

I ordered some parts for mine today. The parts guy at S&W told me the slide material has not changed. Basicly only the frame is different in the new model.

Well the slide looks different on the Q... Why screw with the frame... Was this a problem?
