i want to put ambi extended slide releases on my new model P99 AS
first - where can i get them?
second - whats the installation process?
thanks
The best and cheapest way I can think of is to trade your P99 for a PPQ.

Coincidentally, I own a P99 and was finger-fucking a PPQ at the gunshop today. I want one in 9mm.
oh that one is interesting... i was unaware of that pistol until now. i prefer the P99 though.
i like my Hk P30s ambi extended slide releases and i can see on the frame of my P99 where it is shaved down a little to accommodate them, i prefer the functionality, i thing the stock slide release is too small, and i like the looks better
I got a chance to play with a PPQ at the gun store the other day, feels great, really liked the trigger and the new "antislip" grip. only downside with it as far as I'm concerned, is that they removed the de-cocker...

...AND P99 magazines are not compatable with a PPQ. Sucks since I own nine pricey 12rd 40S&W mags.

Wait, what..... why in gods name would they do such a thing....

Guess this means I wont be buying one.. Oh well......
My new (BA dated) P99 AS has the ambi extended slide release just like my HK P30.

curious, is your decocker the typical size (what, 3/4"?) or that little button style? ive seen both and i cant find a pattern why

Isn't the 'smaller' decocker on the QA version?
Typical size decocker, about 3/4 inch.
My P99 take down is the same as the original P99, small pull down in the trigger housing. So the the extended ambi slide release is not an exact copy of my HK P30 as it is not the take down.

Yes.
No decocker P990 or P99/DAO
small decocker P99/QA
regular decocker P99 or P99/AS
before the introduction of the P99/QA the P990 and P99 was the way the were branded....
also to the original poster
you can not change the regular slide stop lever to the ambi slide stop lever..... you neet to buy it that way

what makes you say that? that doesnt make any sense. it should be just a part swap and i can clearly see on the frame where the extended ambi slide releases would rest, its miledd down a bit on the frame. plus they would have to make two different mold if that were the case, i cant imagine them doing that and limiting out options at the same time

Other than the floor plate, the mags appear identical. At my local gun store, we switched the mags and they both appeared to work in the other.

i did the same thing today with 9mm. fit like a glove. i didnt get a chance to try the baby eagle though
I think you mean the MR. Eagle, not the Baby Eagle.

Really? That's interesting to hear. "The gun counter guy" told me they weren't compatible. We didn't have both on hand to check. I took his word for it.
Was this a 9mm?
Are the 40s compatible also?
It was the 9mm versions that we were playing with.
