 Is a 2001 all German P99 in 40S&W more desirable/valuable than a newer one?

I have a 2001 P99 in 40S&W that I was thinking of selling to purchase a long gun and was wondering if the P99's from back then before they went through S&W were more desirable/valuable than the newer versions? Thinking yes for the purists which myself included was a selling point when I bought it but my tastes have changed since then. I still have the 3 back straps but not the extra front sight posts. What is a realistic value for this? Thank you for any responses. HORSE23

My opinion is no.

As far as I know all the P99's are all german made. Only the importer mark changed. And of course the generational changes.

I would think its worth 450-550 like any other used P99

20-30 years from now that might be different.

Like I said....just my opinion.

I would have to agree with the price suggestion, There are still plenty of gen1's floating around, so collectors still have plenty to pick and choose from.

There is a handful of US made (S&W) P99's (the slide assy was US made IIRC) I believe they where all the OD green .40 model. All the 9MM models out there are 100% German made.

Not to hijack your thread but CDNN has p-99's on sale for $439.00. I was looking at the PK- 380 for this grip design but didn't think I could afford the P-99 until now.
