Guys I told him to read his Manuel for info on bullet recommendations. I know it takes so much to move that big boy. He just got back from his 2nd Afgahn trip ( US ARMY ) . He asked me for a good ammo vendor that sells the type load he would need to feed the beast. I told him AR15 .com will come through for him. Now What to shoot and where to buy ?? Thanks guys, WarDawg

Most 357 loads I fired in my revolvers were lead, but there are FMJ rounds, too. If the Eagle needs an extra hot load to run, first thing that comes to my mind is Double Tap Ammo! Always hot.

From my research and own experience owning a Desert Eagle XIX .357 Magnum Federal American Eagle 158 Grain SJSP ammo is the ticket. Its also recommended for the Desert Eagle by Magnum Research on their website.

I own a DE .357 mag. The manual says no lead bullets, recomends 158gr jacketed full power ammo.

In my experience other .357 mag full power jacketed bullet loads may or may not work. The heavier the bullet the better. Some 125gr hollowpoints will run in mine.

They don't want you using lead bullets because it might leave lead in the gas port.
