 Ruger Bearcat. Year of manufacture?

My brother-in -law asked me to look over his trapline pistol and see if it needed to be cleaned as it had been put away for a couple of years. Imagine to my surprise when I finally picked it up that it was a Old model Bearcat. I was also a little taken aback when I turned it over and read the serial no. M56X. And the frips were plain walnut and had no Ruger emblems either. The trigger guard was also made out of brass which contrasted nicely with the blue frame.
Can anyone tell me approx. what year this one left the factory? I know he doesn't want to part with it so value is not an issue here.
TIA

It looks like it was made in 1959:
