P380 Mag Springs Dying Early?
Anybody else had trouble with their P380 mag springs dying fast? I've got less than 200 rounds through this P380. It's been flawless. But I recently noticed at the last range session that the mags don't lock the slide back properly anymore. One of the mags won't do it at all (I can put an empty mag in and pull back on the slide with no results) and the other mag will partially engage the slide stop occasionally.
After about a month of waiting I got replacement mag springs in from Kahr ($12 each!) - nobody else has them, not even Wolff. Once the springs were replaced the mags locked the slide back like a champ.
Now I'm in a bind - do I download my mags to 5 rounds to keep this from happening? 380 needs all the extra rounds it can get, but I want the mags to be 100% reliable as well.
They shouldn't wear out that soon. Did you contact Kahr about it? From my experiences, I'd think that Kahr would send you replacement springs for free (as they've worn out way early). If they'll do that, then I'd just go about using and testing them as you go. Wolf springs would be a good replacement, if they eventually make them.
