MK40, broke it in, have a question

I went to the range today and broke in my new MK40. love the gun it was every thing that i was wanting it to be. The 40 S&W in a gun that small is a bit of a handful, especially with the flush mag. I put 200 rounds of fmj down range, and 50 rounds of hollow points, all functioned flawlessly.

My only concern may or may not be an issue. All of my ejected casings had markings that looked like the firing pin was dragging on the primer. Should i be concerned?

Grip screws also worked loose, but I didn't loose any of them. will just lock-tite them and should be good to go.

Those marks could be something specific to the MK series, but my K40 does not do that. Might want to consider emailing those pics to Kahr and see what they have to say about it.

Got an email back this morning. Looks like I should have looked through the manual.

+1 for a fast response.

Good morning. Thank you for your question. That is perfectly normal for our firearms. If you refer to page 23 in your owners manual there will be a photograph of a similar empty cartridge. I hope this information helps.

Sincerely , Kahr service

So then I'll assume page 23 of your manual shows identical pics as yours.....I'll have to take a peek at my manual for the K40 since mine does not do that, and I would know as I pick it all up for reloading purposes.

But at least you now know and have peace of mind that it's normal for YOUR pistol. Now go shoot the hell out of it.

Still haven't looked in the manual.

I did look at the online version and didn't notice it until I looked at it today. I was looking for a picture, it was a computer drawing.

All of mine do that. Some not as bad as others, but from what I have read, it is perfectly normal. I have a PM9, K40 Covert, and a P9.

The Kahr manual shows an illustration of the dragging firing pin, but no real pictures. The manual says it's normal, and not a cause for worry. My K9 drags also, but not as much as that. A friend of mine had the same issue, and replaced the firing pin.
