Anyone shooting a CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Target in IDPA or 3 gun? I currently shoot a les 45: however, I'm thinking about moving to 9mm (cheaper to reload, quicker on target) and I'm not a big fan of the glocks (yes I know their great guns, I've owned several over the years) and I've alway loved the the CZ75B and Hi Powers. The thing is I haven't anyone using them in competion.
I shot the last 3 nationals with a standard SPO1 from the custom shop. It weighed exactly 39 oz. It will be kind of iffy whether or not you can make weight with an SP01 Shadow. There is the new 75 Shadow that has the short dustcover that makes weight easily. I have an SP01 Shadow Target Duo tone and it's very sweet, but I just mainly shoot USPSA now.
They are very popular in USPSA here. They might not make weight in IDPA, that may be why you dont see them there as much... not sure.

I wonder if they could handle 9mm major? Anyone know?

I would not try it.

And remember, 9mm can not be scored major in limited by the rules.

That's why if it were me I'd get te CZ 75 Shadow instead. Essentially the same pistol just doesn't have the light rail which shaves weight.

I shoot my SP01 Shadow Target Custom in IDPA. It weighs in at exactly 39.0oz To make weight, I use: 10rd mags, the plastic guide rod, and lightweight Marschal grips.
If they were available at the time, I would have went with just the
Shadow with the LPA adjustable rear sights. I shoot my own 147gr loads and prefer to be able to adjust for the high shooting 147s.
