I'm pretty pumped with today's purchase. I won't admit to how much it cost me since I was well aware that I was not getting a deal, but I am very happy with the gun. I've been wanting one for awhile but I had not seen one in the wild. This is easily the most comfortable gun I've ever held. Unfortunately I won't be able to take it out until next week.

Just got home so I took some quick pics. I'll get some better shots tomorrow when I have daylight.

Congrats! That is a fine looking specimen!

Let us know how your first range trip with it goes.

Very nice pistol. I hope you realize a BHP can lead to chronic dissatisfaction with polymer pistols.

I do think you need some different grips. I think the best are Nill grips (pictured) but they are a little pricey. Next on my list would be VZ grips.

A fellow Aggie on another board actually does custom grips, so I'll probably order from him.

By the way, what kind of wood is that? I like the color.

Don't overlook Larry Davidson's HiPower grips. They are contoured with a small palm swell. They fit the hand well.

I'm glad this got bumped on my subscription page.

I constantly kick myself over dropping big dollars on this (as I said before... I did not get a good deal) but I LOVE this gun.

Every time I start thinking negatively about it, I do something with it (shoot it or carry it) and I fall in love with it all over again.

As some background, I've been carrying a Beretta 92FS for the last year... so the BHP is not only smaller, but lighter as well.

I did the Wal-Mart concealed carry run with it tonight and I've never felt so comfortable.

The Beretta always felt so heavy and tended to have an obvious profile.

Just need a dedicated holster (used my Beretta holster tonight) and I'll be golden.

Who cares what you paid for it. That's the best gun made.

Yea.. fun to get good deals when we can but it all balances out in the end.

For an IWB holster I like MTAC's.

Congrats on your Hi Power FTAggie.

I am Class of '88 and would like to know how to get in touch with the Ag who does custom grips if that is something you can share.

Might want something someday to dress up my own MK III

Class of '10 here. Just graduated in May.

I thought they were custom but he's really just a dealer. Either way I was more than happy to give a fellow Ag business. At the risk of "advertising" I'll just send you over to the Outdoors Board (OB) on TexAgs.com. Tx4guns is the poster that deals in grips. In fact you can just google his screen name and "grips" and you'll find what you're looking for.

I ended up ordering the VZ grips from him. I think he orders them directly from the manufacturer but I still paid standard MSRP. He didn't charge me shipping because I'm an occasional OB poster.

Either way it was a pleasant transaction and I don't mind giving business to a fellow Ag.

Got the new VZ grips in. They're far more comfortable than the stock grips and look pretty sexy to boot.

Congrats on your purchase. I don't know of another firearm other than the HP that brings a smile to people's faces just by holding it in their hand and feeling the fit and heft of the pistol.
