Im getting ready to put an Apex set in my M&P 9 but what I also want to do is put a single side safety on it. I hate the ambi and the ease at which it disengages makes me leary while carrying it.

I have searched around the net, maybe my Google skills just suck, maybe no one makes one. I dont know, but if anyone knows who carries one please help me out here.

S&W never made a single sided safety model. Now i have seen where people are making their ambi models into single sided with a dremel and a S&W factory frame plug. I think the biggest problem is going to be cutting the notches in the frame.

This is where i go for a lot of M&p stuff.

I have come to the conclusion there is no single side safety option for the M&P. Anyone have a link for the DIY and a factory frame plug?

Might help. M&P thumb safety with CT grip installation

Appears you can just cut off one side, install grip. I want to buy a .40 shield, was wondering if it could be done this way too. I can't stand ambi-safeties, had a couple and they were always getting bumped-off while carrying.

Shield does not have an ambi safety. Left side only.

Cut off the one you don't want. It works fine.

This is what I was going to suggest. Cut it flush and you shouldn't even notice it... similar to HK guns.
