Just got a Para Ordnance P-14.

I got it almost completely unannounced, and just looked at the mag prices.........$35-50 each, ouch!

This is not a combat gun so mags for me will be mostly range and/or SHTF.........Does PSI and/or Mecgar make good mags for this gun?

PSI and Megcar have great prices on those mags and since Im a dealer I get even better pricing.

Just need to find out which or maybe you guys have much luck with both, who knows?

LASTLY............

Does anybody besides Gungrips.com the aluminum grip makers make any other grips for this gun? I have seen Pearce and Hogue make some wrap-around finger groove types.........but looking for some G-10 or Macarta grips...

......Anybody?

I've other posts on here that say the MecGar mags are pretty good. I have a Para on order and am also interested in what aftermarket mags have worked for others. I have seen some references to the factory mags not working 100% and wonder what else is working in people's guns.

I have both Mec-Gar and PSI mags for my P-14. Zero problems with both brands.

That's good to hear. I will probably try out one or both of those a try once mine is built.

Brownells has some grips, don't know about G-10 or Micarta.

I've actually had pretty good luck with ProMags for my P14 , though my P12 hates 'em.

Unless something has changed, Mec-gar and ACT-mag (PSI) are the old style para mags, meaning that they use the thinner base pads. They both run great, but if you go to add a mag extender base to the mag, you will need to shave a tad off the top of the extender to allow the mag to seat correctly in the frame.

Who makes the thin grips for the P-14?
