Ruger Mk.III - Speed Strip Kit
Has anyone used a speed strip kit on a Ruger Mk. III? I read about one by Majestic Arms (http://majesticarms.com/id10.html), but was wondering if anyone has ever used it (or a similar product) on their Ruger Mk. II or III. I love shooting the pistol, but field stripping it is a chore and something like this seems interesting. Thanks.
I just installed the 3.2 version and I love it.
I have it on mine. Great for quick cleaning, and the 3.2 kit gets rid of the mag safety.
Cool, I think I need one of those.
Saw this kit when I first bought my Ruger Mark III a few years ago. Never got around to ordering one and in the mean time got very go at field/detail stripping my pistol. Taking apart/assembling an OEM Ruger Mark II/III isn't as hard as it looks.

Taking it apart is easy. Putting it back together without knowing "the trick" is a pain in the ass.
I ordered the kit and am now debating if I want to install it or have an armorer do it. I am leaning to just paying to have it done as I know it will be a hassle. I'll keep you all posted and give a range report in a month or so.
The only thing I don't love about the 3.2 kit is I am having light strike issues with the new hammer. The 3.2 hammer is lighter and the firing pin strikes on the empty brass looks half as deep as the original hammer. I get a FTF about one round every 2-3 magazines.
I may ditch the light hammer but I am absolutely keeping the speed strip kit in place.
just ordered the 3.2 for my MKIII Hunter... thanks for the info.. I may leave the hammer out also..
