first date with the ruger mkIII hunter in 6.88
Wow this is a tack driver 15yds looked like that fair game where you shoot out the star. 25yd still great though the front dot is a little big for my likeing. Red dot will be ordered today! 1k rounds with zero hiccups 300 mini mag 500 rem goldens 200 federal champs one dirty gun but zero problems exept the bolt wasnt holding open after the first 600 rounds but it was filthy. Also the rear sight pivot pin kept working its way out. Any remedy for this. No threads so no lock tight. Maybe a dot of ghetto crazy glue... All anf al very glad I got this lady!
Both my MkII rear sight pins did the same thing when new. My gunsmith whipped up a nice roll pin for both. The outward tension seems to keep them in place just fine.
Damn I will have to look for a similar sized one at the next show, makes sense didnt even cross my mind a nice roll pin would work
When I have a pin come out I usually just take it out and give it a whack with a hammer on an anvil flattening it a little and put it back in. Works well.
