I picked up this used 1999 4" Ruger 22/45 Target today. It came with a US mil-surp UM-84 (shorter than a M12) flapped holster (perfect fit) and a extra mag.
I got $180.00 in it.
The action is very smooth and it hand feeds/ejects just fine. I'll take it to my range this afternoon and run it.
I ordered a set of fixed sights for it as for what I'm going to use it for I don't need the target sights.
Excellent barrel length. Lucky!
Those sights are perfect for a can. Why change them?

The weapon will be a rough use weapon/pot filler and spend it's days in the woods and along the river. I don't need "target" sights for that. Just one more thing to break IMHO. Add to that the Ruger blade insert has a rep for being a bit brittle. Odd thing on a Ruger but there it is. A nice set of three-dot fixed sights were available from Ruger to fit it for $25 shipped. They will better serve my needs. Target pistols I got.
As for a can....No thanks.
I just got back from my range and I ran 50 rounds through it with no issues. I did not have any trouble shooting clover-leafs with it at 15 yards from a rest.
Sometimes used is good if you don't buy a problem as everything has been smoothed out for you. Another good thing is being a older 22/45 it does not have that mag disconnect everyone rends the garments about.

Nice score, great price. I
never see Ruger Mk*s for that cheap.
