Difference FNP and FNX
Besides the rail, what's the difference? I have Glocks and a Sig, considering adding an FN.
Slightly lower bore axis on the FNX, totally different safety/decocker controls, and ambidextrous mag release are the main differences.
FNX also has one more in the mag, weighs a tiny bit less and has larger, easier to pick up sights.
A FNP that I'm looking at LGS has a 10 round mag.
Will it take FNX 17 round mags?

No.
The FNX uses a totally different mag.
There are 16 round mags for the FNP though.
If you're on a strict budget, right now FN is giving dealers huge incentives to blow out old stock of FNPs. A dealer near me has FNP 9 or 40s for $399 brand new and with 5 mags.

I just paid $399 for my FNP-40, got it with 3 ten round and one throw in 15 round mag.....oddly, dealer had a compliant gun in NC, good deal anyway so I took it. I did compare the FNX and the FNP side by side....I won't lie, the FNX looked sweet, but for almost $200 difference I'm happy. Shoots great!
i just bought an fnp40, didn't realize it had 3 10-rd mags til i got it home...that's on me.
cheaper than dirt has the 14rd mags for cheap!
14rd mag
Stay with Sig. I have 3 FN's including an FNX 40, FNP Tactical and a Five Seven. They have horrible rude customer service reps and wouldn't even pay to shop my new gun back.

Thats not the story I've been hearing from others, sorry you've had such bad luck.
