So this won't be a down and dirty review but for people like myself who want to find that perfect stock for their shotgun this might help them out a bit. I have had this 590A1 for a while now and I have gone through a few stocks trying to find that right one until I received this Choate Mossberg 500 pistol grip stock. This shotgun came with a Speedfeed fixed 14" LOP but it was way too long for me when shouldering so I did some research and heard rave reviews about the Hogue youth 12" LOP in which I bought and installed. The Hogue is a solid stock and for the price it is in my opinion the nicest fixed stock on the market when it comes to texture and feel. I took the Hogue youth out to the range a few months ago and even though I read online about watching out for my thumb when I shot it I did it anyway and knocked the crap out of my nose. For me the Hogue youth was a bit small in length and I should have gone with the Hogue 13" LOP from the start but you live and learn. I have always liked fixed or adjustable pistol grip stocks but couldn't really find the right one that was of good quality and right price. I recently saw this stock on a 930SPX and figured that I would try it because basically I liked the way it looked and that the user could adjust his or her LOP. I received it tonight, installed and this is what I find with it.
Pros:
-Nice sturdy design
-Very comfortable in the shoulder and very thick butt pad for recoil
-Adjusts from 13 to 14 LOP
-The pistol grip seems to just mold in your hand
Cons"
-Hard to reach the safety
-The user will have to take the stock off to remove the trigger housing assembly
-Hard to reach the action release button
With the cons mentioned about this stock I still find it to be a keeper. I fits very nice in my shoulder and and the pistol grip gives added support which is why I like a pistol gripped shotgun stock. The pics are crappy but I hope this helps someone out.
Just curious. Have you looked at the Mesa Tactical stock kits?
The Magpul stock for the Mossbergs cannot get here fast enough.

Since they don't make them.

I like those Choate stocks; have one on an ole Ithaca DSPS. They're kinda ugly (the stocks, not the Ithacas) but they are very comfortable. Manipulation of the controls on a Mossberg with a pistol-grip stock is a bitch, but that’s a Mossberg thing, I love em just with the traditional stock on em.
