Warbelt sliding down; anyone use suspenders, or not tight enough?
I definitely don't have a big gut, so no that's not the issue lol I'm 6 foot, 180lbs.
Just got my belt setup the way I want it and it seems that the belt, especially in the middle of my back is wanting to twist away from me slightly and loosens/moves the rest of the belt. I don't have any insanely heavy in the back but I put the belt on and it is pretty snug, yet this happens after moving around a bit and I suspect would only get worse when running around.
The setup right now is an ATS warbelt, with a cobra riggers belt.
(from my left to right)
- 2 Emdom Shingles on my weak side at about 8 oclock
- Emdom dump pouch at about 630
- ATS small med kit at 5 oclock
- Emdom small gadget pouch at 4 oclock
- Gcode/Edgeworks offset holster at about 230
The weight seems to come from the med kit, but it's not overly stuffed; normal loadout in it, nothing heavy. I don't think I could tighten the belt much more as when I put it on, its pretty damn snug. I was considering trying to incorporate a set of suspenders, but was wondering if these interfere or get slacked around when wearing a chest rig and/or plate carrier in conjunction with the warbelt.
Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks
I wear suspenders and they work great. Chest rig goes over the suspenders no problem.
There are a few things that it could be. The ones I can think of are:
1. The weight as you mentioned. Take the med kit off and try it on for a few hours to see. I doubt this one as I carried 8 HEDP 40mm rounds, two frags, a surefire Z2 in SF carrier, Maxpedition dump pouch and sometimes a small GP pouch w/ a few bottles of water, some power bars, etc in it. All without it sagging.
2. It's too loose. I have no ass according to my old lady but I have no problem with my battle belt because it's tight across my hips. Mine kinda feels like a back support thing.
3. Your kit/rack/body armor is pushing it down. This is one I had to figure out the hard way.
I have about 12 lbs. on my belt, no need for braces. How tight is tight for you? Can you cinch it down a bit more? If not, get suspenders.

Ordered a set of the Emdom suspenders and am going to try it from both directions; suspenders as well as tightening the belt. For some reason its tight, but with the weight distribution something occurs that is causing this issue. Figured this would take care of everything at the same time.
Good plan. You don't have too much stuff, so I'm thinking it's not the weight, but the distribution that's givin' ya grief.
